Ah, lightning -- so perfect you are.... but you aren't so perfect that you understand how to treat other humans with respect. I suspect you are a lonely, bored alcoholic who has no life.

well lightning... i'm sorry to say i'm not nearly as perfect as you, but I do have one question.. (pardon my stupidity for a moment please, as I bask in your glory)

Who said anything in this topic about profiting from the death of a loved one?

And if the one grammar slip that I (hmm, or is it me?? ponderous!) made is the worst thing about this whole situation, i'd gladly take it.

Oh, and while we're at it, please post where I've EVER slammed someone regarding their grammar skills.

It was his take on something I said in a long ago post. Someone had posted about receiving an inheritance shortly after discharge. I don't recall the details, but it was significant enough to reopen the case. My comment was along the lines of it being a blessing to receive an inheritance, he tried to turn that into me saying that I want my loved ones to die just so I can get their money.

Its really not important-I think we should all forget about Lightning, stop responding to the posts he made-and get back to the purpose of this forum. If his intention was to disrupt the board, he succeeded as he turned every thread into a debate and took the attention off of the posts themselves. I am ready to move on, as I'm sure everyone else is as well.

Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

actually, i was just catching up and have seen that he will no longer be joining us, so it's no big deal now.

I'm going to spend the day tomorrow seeking atty's and see if anyone is willing to take my case. Hopefully i'll hear back from the trustee too.

              have a great night everyone

I love my friends and family and would never consider their deaths to be a blessing even if they left me millions of dollars. My relationships with them are worth more than money.

I also don't want to file for bankruptcy. Surely you don't want everyone in the world to file just so they can "understand" you? That's pretty stupid, don't you think?

Why don't you walk a mile in my shoes. Never file bankruptcy. Never see the death of loved ones leaving you money as a blessing. Always pay all your bills on time and in full. Never live beyond your means. Never blame other people for your mistakes.
What the heck are you talking about? I didn't say anything about inheritances or the passing of friends/family. I've never received an inheritance, nor am I expecting one.

For the record, my credit was PERFECT until I unexpectedly became sick last year. Sick as in NEARLY BLED TO DEATH because of a female-related emergency situation. It took 3 hospital stays, several E/R visits, and ultimately, major surgery to correct the problem. Not to mention 4 months of being doubled over in excrutiating pain! If I had not gone to the hospital, I wouldn't BE here now. Before you jump to any conclusions, the problem wasn't caused by anything I did or didn't do. It could not have been anticipated, nor could it have been avoided. It just happened.

Afterwards, there was NO WAY we could pay the bills. We TRIED our best, until every penny we had was gone. We sold literally everything of value that we had. It was only after our best efforts that we finally decided that bankruptcy was the only option left. We certainly didn't "WANT" to, as you put it!

I made no mistakes. I did not live beyond my means. And I had NEVER missed a payment on ANY of my bills. In fact, my lawyer had to specifically TELL me to stop paying them, because I was still trying to scrounge up even $5 or $10 to send everyone.

And for what it's worth, if I ever DO somehow get the money to pay those bills, I fully intend to do so, even though they have been discharged.

So, see? You have no right to pass judgement on my -- or anyone else's -- situation. You jump to a lot of conclusions, firing off cruel comments left and right, when you don't even know the whole story.

I hope that you never find yourself in a similar situation, but no one knows what the future holds. Unless you're incredibly wealthy (which I doubt!), all it can take is one crisis to bring you to your knees.

And if -- heaven forbid -- you do find yourself in a no-win situation, I hope you remember the way you've treated several people in this forum.

                .

I've said my piece. No more feeding the troll.

Edited to add: I see he's been banned now, anyway. Good riddance.
