    Sister getting married...in Mexico

So we finally get all of the paperwork ready to go to the lawyer, and now my sister has announced she's getting married. In 6 weeks. In Mexico. No, she's not pregnant.

I'd REALLY like to go to the wedding. Of course it's family, and it's a wedding, but it's also on the beach in Mexico. A 4 day trip to the beach sounds awesome right about now. If it weren't for a pending bankruptcy there's be no question, I'd go. We just got our tax refund so we have the cash to pay for it out of pocket.

The paralegal said that once she has the paperwork from us it'll be at least 30 days before we're ready to file. Probably at that point we'll wait until somewhere around the end of the month so that our bank accounts are all drained. That puts the timeline at:

mid-October - paperwork delivered to lawyer
mid-November - trip to Mexico for wedding
    late November - bankruptcy filing
    late December/early January - 341 meeting

Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Was it an issue for you? I have a call in to the lawyer's office but haven't heard back yet. I'd be pretty unhappy about missing the wedding, but the date is set and I can't make things move any faster on my end.

Make sure that trip shows up NOWHERE in any bank statement or otherwise. Cash only, and when they ask what you did with your tax refund you used it to pay your attorney and other normal expenses.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking. It's a package deal, all-inclusive, but means that I need to get $1700 in cash to the travel agent.
