I have a question about the monthly difference in my electric bill for figuring my expenses. I live in Central Florida and here our electric bills vary wildly. In the middle of the summer my bill is over $200 because the AC is on constantly, but in the winter I don't need to use AC or heat. It stays very comfortable inside. My last electric bill was $180 but the one I got today was only $80. So how do I deal with my expense sheet for the trustee with this issue? If the expenses go off of the newest bill then I'm not sure I will qualify for Chapter 7, but next spring when it starts getting really hot again, my electric bills will spike and I wouldn't be able to afford the payments to the trustee under Chapter 13. How do I deal with this? please help!!!!

See if your utility company can give you a printout showing the last 12 months & the billed amounts. Take the total and divide by 12, and you'll have a reasonable estimate. (Getting that info from your utility company should not be a big deal.)Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
