    Any self employed have 341?

    Hi all.
I'm new here and had to go CH7 no asset.
I was just wondering if the 341 for self employed people go just as smooth usually?
I gave my attorney my tax returns and schedule c's for the last 2 years.
Just wondering if I'm going to get "grilled" with questions or if I will only have the normal ones.

    I had my hearing today:

I wasn't grilled, he asked a few more questions like do I have an inventory, do you feel you assessed the value of your business property/tools of trade fairly, how long have you been in business, etc. He seemed satisfied with my answers Your attorney should be able to prepare you for any questions...some random attorney I wasn't even paying helped me in 5 minutes before the hearing!

      Thanks for the information!
One thing that I'm really fuzzy on is an asset I own.
      It's a piece of equipment worth anywhere between $9,000 & $11,000.
I'm in PA using Federal exemptions.
Being that I don't own a house, I can use the unused portion of my homestead and misc wildcard for a total of $9,750 towards the equipment.
If the trustee feels the equipment is towards the $11,000 end, I'm not clear what happens then.
Do I just get a relative to pay him the difference to keep it?

Well, since you have any attorney they can probably answer that better...remember that it is the fair market value, not what the 'new' price would be.

I had my 341 a month ago and I am self employed. I run 2 businesses. One where I am the only asset (consulting service) and another where I have inventory. My inventory isn't worth thousands but more like $800 or so. But it didn't even come up in the meeting. My meeting went more smooth then some people that weren't self employed.

Just make sure you have your 2003 & 2004 tax returns with you as most likely the Trustee will want to see that. I only had to show my 2004 taxes.

You can read more about my 341 experience here:
