    Signing My Papers Tomorrow!

I am signing my paperwork with the lawyer tomorrow!! I am so nervous about this. I am filing Chapt 7 in Richmond, VA.

I still think I don't qualify for Chapt 7 yet because I took the cash value of 2 life insurance policies and received 2 hardship distributions. And because of that I am over the limit a little on the means test. Without the life insurance cash out I easily pass the means test. The lawyer is still saying that I can do it. He has been doing this for over 25 years so I am trusting that he is doing the right thing.

    Any thoughts?

You are paying him good money for good advice. Why waste your money if you aren't confident that he knows what he is doing. Follow his advice. 'Hub

Only advice with lawyers is make sure they are not run of the mill firms, as you will regret it. A dedicated bk related law firm is a must. Ideally your lawyer will handle a handful of cases a month. That way you will have a better idea of whether they have the time to focus on your case and questions.

        Attorney

This is his specialty for 25 years. That is all his firm does. A friend of mine has already used him with success for Chapt 13. So I am hoping I made the right decision. I have just been reading so much on this bored that conflicts with what he has told me with regards to me passing the means test. Which has made me have more questions. Maybe there is loopholes or something I don't know about. I really had no knowledge about bankruptcy until after talking to him and reading this bored. This stuff is so complicated. At this point I am just doing what he advises me to do. If he thinks I can do it, I'm going for it.

Don't feel alone, in that we knew much less, as we did not know about this place until well in our journey. If he is as good as you say he is, you don't have a problem. It is his job to worry for you. You are paying him to do that. This is stressful enough not to start imagining problems that don't yet exist. Don't make them exist in your mind. You will do fine.
