what happens if you sold a car within year

I see that a question you are asked is if you have sold or transferred any property to anybody within the last year, what if you sold a car?

Normally if the car was sold longer than 6 months ago nothing will be said except what did you use the money for?? Within the last 2-3 months, yes they will want to know exactly what you used the money for........ especially the the auto was worth much.

They will also ask you if you KNEW you were going to file bankruptcy at the time..... be honest about it and you will be okay.....

Just be prepared to explain what happened to the cash.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

      Remember: be honest.

If you sold it for a fair price, you should be fine. If you had an antique automobile that you sold to your brother for $500, you have some 'splaining to do.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Never risk turning a financial problem into a legal problem. If they suspect something, they can run vehicle sales checks and lots of other things. Art

Simple. Most of these transactions such as car or home transfers can be looked up at your DMV or local town hall. Since the bankruptcy process is administered by the US Dept. Of Justice, we must assume that they can find out ANYTHING they want about a person . Their concern is "how much did you sell the property for and where did the money go to?" Be honest and you'll be fine.
