    Darn attorney!

Why is it that when you REALLY need to get an answer to something in a hurry they decide to be completely unavailable! Bah!

I need to make a decision about getting another car before DH leaves for deployment in a few days. This is his last weekend here, and it's our only chance to do anything.

Should I start getting rude? It's not at all my nature, but we really don't have time to be cooling our heels! I feel terrible for pestering her, but it IS a valid and important question!

    Phooey. I hate waiting.

you hired your attorney to deal with these problems.

they are no longer busy. what they are trying to do is be less busy.

did you know that they are bound by bankruptcy laws and mandates to specifically answer questions and meet with you to deal with your concerns during the entire case. go to their office and sit there with a sack lunch.
Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!

While the attorney may work for you, that doesn't mean you own the person. They probably have other cases and a family and friends and many other things to do.

How many days / weeks have you been trying to contact your attorney?

Lightening, I know I don't OWN my attorney, and I certainly understand that she's got a lot going on. I have called one time each day since Wednesday, and I'm always very pleasant.

More than anything, I was just spouting here because I'm frustrated and I didn't have anyone else to talk to. I'm frustrated by my situation, having a husband who is leaving for 6 months, having no car, and having DH chomping at the bit to go buy something because he is worried about me.

It's just hard when you know your question only requires a short answer, but you can't even get anyone to call you back. They told me Wednesday she would call me back. Her assistant told me yesterday that she would call me back. The receptionist told me today that my attorney's assistant would call me back. My phone's been ringing all day, but no calls from them.

You were right in the other thread when you said "it's grounded in common sense." I think we just need to halt the idea of buying a car. I'll just cope with not having a vehicle until after the discharge.

I certainly understand your frustration. But 3 days isn't unreasonable. Did you tell the assistant that your husband is being deployed next week and you must have an answer immediately? If you only just found out about the deployment and/or something sudden and unexpected happened to your current vehicle in the last 3 days, I would hope the law office would give their best effort to work with you.

Alice, I iknow you are under a lot of stress; BK on top of your husband being deployed and time is of the essence...so I would, if you havent already, call your lawyer's office and explain that your husband is being deployed. I cant imagine they would not be responsive to you then. It is indeed hard for those of us going through the anxiety of filing BK and wanting those instant answers from our attorneys but we do have to keep in mind we are not their only client. Dont misunderstand me I think your attorney should return your phone calls within a reasonable period of time and you should not have to continue to call. Frankly I got more info from my attorney's assistant than I did him and I called my lawyer on a SATURDAY MORNING...horrors....he was not a happy camper but tough....the trustee filed a motion to extend and there was no way I was going to wait until Tuesday(Monday was a holiday)...Good luck...we are all so grateful to your husband...
