Does anyone know if you can discharge gov. parking tickets under Chap. 7? This is in the state of Washington... thanks.

I don't believe you can have parking tickets discharged in bankruptcy. They are considered fines and penalties owed to a government agency, which are one of the categories of debts not discharged*.

I believe Jalex is right. For some reason parking tickets, fines and library book charges can not be discharged.Chapter 7 filed December 11, 2009, 341 Meeting held on January 7, 2010

No, they are not.
Just saw my discharge papers and it clearly indicates that the fines and penalties (or almost any thing you owe to govt) are not discharged.Comment
