Just did our taxes yesterday and looks like we are getting about $2200 back. At our consultation on Monday our BK Attorney advised us that if we did happen to get a refund back to spend it. But what kinds of things are you NOT supposed to be buying right now when we plan on filing in the next 4-5 months?

Spend the money on necessities. You can pay your auto insurance for the entire year. Do you need to visit the dentist or optometrist? Does your house or car need some repairs?Originally posted by tightgrip View PostJust did our taxes yesterday and looks like we are getting about $2200 back. home repairs, maintenance stuff is OK. Stock up the kitchen cupboards and freezer. Don't go and buy a Wii, HD tv, or go to vegas and gamble it away.Originally posted by tightgrip View PostI thought about buying new clothes and shoes for the kids and my husband and I and maybe fixing up our house some with home interior stuff. That kind of purchases are ok right?

I would call it more than a small fib being that you are under oath.....a small fib rarely ends you up in jail. Just saying it's not worth the risk, find safe legal ways to exempt your money.Originally posted by benny View Posti suppose it is a small fib. but what r they gonna do come search your hse for cash. the lawyer basically said the same thing. if you read betwen the lines.Filed Chapter 7: 10/29/09 341 Meeting: 12/02/09

I have been told to stock up on groceries, toiletries, diapers, get caught up on bills (morgtage, car, utilities), we even asked if we could buy a cheap car (like 2K - cauz our current 2nd car is on it's last leg) and pay the lawyer fees off so we can officially file. The lawyer today (lawyer #4 we have had a consultation with) even told me to get my mom to babysit so hubby and i could go on a weekend vacation on cash since it will be our last one for a while. I thought that was odd that was okayed, and we will not be doing it, but...Retained lawyer on 3/9/10
Finally filed ch 7 on 10/29/10
341 mtg on 12/1/10 hopefully
