It was almost too easy.
After getting there early and listening to other cases, I felt better. Trustee asked me only the required questions, commented that at my age I'd have no problem rebuilding my credit, and that was it.
Most of the people there filed pro se. Several had issues with paperwork and amendments, but the trustee only wanted most of them to send copies of the paperwork to him (not reschedule the meeting). That includes someone who didn't have his SS card. Three or four out of the 15 or so were told that they should probably get legal counsel because of various special circumstances, mostly involving real estate or taxes.
Only one person had significant problems. He was a business owner and 3 creditors (actually, their lawyers) showed up and grilled him about various aspects of the business. No creditors showed up for anyone else. Everyone but this guy was done in less than 5 minutes. (This guy was 45 minutes (!) - and they had to schedule a continuance!)
My trustee seemed quite nice. I did not feel threatened by him at all. For me, it was clearly nothing more than a formality.
