Is it better to file CH7 in Michigan or Florida?

    Hello,

Just curious if it's better to file in MI or Florida.

My parents have been living in FL for 10 years now and are begging me to move back with them down there. So what do you guys think?

Also how long would I have to be living there before I'm allowed to file?

    Any input would be great.

    Thanks,

    Ronnie
May your ups and downs be in bed.

You need to be a resident for 180 days. If you own a home, I believe it is exempted up to $137k or thereabouts. All of your other exemptions will be as allowed by your former residence. You can google FL Ch7 exemptions and get more precise info.
Filed Ch7 5/28/09 (Pro Se) Orlando, 341 7/01, UST selected case for audit 7/01, Last day for objection 8/31. Audit report filed 9/10, no material misstatements. Discharged and closed 9/22/2009
