First time posting.Here is the situation. I am about 25 days till the sheriff sale on my home. Wife lost her job about 17 months ago. Since I knew I would be losing my house, I purchased a home under a contract for deed. I live in the state of illinois, So I will be filing chapter 7 real soon as to aovid a deficiency judgment.
Can I claim ther home under contract for deed as exemtion or do I just list it as a excultory contract that I will be reaffirming?
Also do you think the trustee will question the money I put into this house as it needed work
