    questions on maximum debts

    In Chapter 7

    1. Is there a maximum cap on debts?

    2. If the filer did not list a certain debt or lawsuit, and got discharged from the bk 7, does that certain debt or lawsuit can be discharhged later or discharged already?

    Please help!

I'm not aware of a maximum cap on debts for chapter 7. Possibly, the more the better, to make it less likely that DMI is high enough to push you out of chapter 7. Chapter 13 has caps, though, certainly for unsecured.

Forgotten debts are usually effectively regarded as discharged for no-asset chapter 7 so long as you weren't dishonest or anything, though one sometimes has to reopen the case to get a clear ruling on the debt. It's not automatic, though, and asset cases are thornier still.
