    I.R.S. Question

I was discharded in December. I owed 10K in back taxes. I stopped paying when I filed. I have not heard a word. I am not really interested in calling those bastards.

What do you think is going to happen?
    Any experience?
    Filed 9/14
    341 10/22/09
Trustees report of no distribution 10/26
    Scheduled for discharge 12/22

Did the taxes meet all the requirements to be filed? over 3 years old, you filed them on time, etc. There's a good sticky that lists out the requirements very well. If so, you shouldn't be worried. I owed over $40k in back taxes from like 8 years ago from a failed business. That was a big monkey on my back. A few days after I filed, I went in to the IRS customer advocacy (or whatever it's called), and they looked up my account. I was kind of nervous at first, but much less than I would have been before filing. I'd suggest you either call them or go into an IRS office. They'll be pretty matter of fact about whether they're discharged or not.

If discharged, nothing to worry about.

If not, you need to call them and get back on your payment plan ASAP.
