Re exeptions: Kelly Blue Book valuations for car?

Do you use trade in, private sale or retail value for your used car (re exemption)?

    Thanks!

In our 341 last week the Trustee used the highest Private Party value from Kelly.

Find out from your attorney which valuation method your district uses. Mine used NADA Retail value. They don't care that the actual value is no where close to their preferred method. This is one of those district specific items. If your vehicle has high milage and damage, then document it if you are in danger of the Trustee wanting to take your vehicle.

I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..

Our district uses NADA retail as well. Since the values were really high, we paid for certified appraisals which came in much lower.

How do you do a certified appraisal?
Still learning all of this, but glad I've found this site! Thank you all for your advice and patience!

The attorney's office provided a list of approved appraisers in the area.
