Probably Beach Cops. They were always heavy handed. I imagine he worked the Fountainbleau, Eden Roc or the Saxony. You might want to find out. I was walking with my friends at 2 am one time and had my tool box on my shoulder, going down to 15th street and Meridian to fix my car. A cop stopped us, told us to stop. I didn't, just stupid, my buddy yelled my name and "stop now"!!!!!! and as i turned around the Cop was club out headed for my knees and stopped when he saw my face, "oh its you, see you guys later". "Caliente" is filmed at the Fountainbleau now so it's better than it ever was!!! Had my share of minor runins with Metro Dade, big fellas (you had to be over 6ft. then), bag bad cars with "Metro Dade" on the side. We all remarked that "Miami Dade" just doesn't pack heat when they changed over. There was something about that 6'2" cop with the "Metro Dade" on the Green and White, he was "Billy Bad Ass" in person.

Back in those days the cops could kick your butt and GOD HELP me they delivered me to my Dad who kicked it worse for them having to trouble themselves! Those boys could handle the streets and keep the peace! I remember a bum on a bike years ago pulled in front of my car coming from the BK on 41st on the Beach, I hit him, barely. He got outraged and called the cops, they came, roughed him up, threw him in the car, threw the bicycle aside and drove him over the Julia Tuttle to Miami!!!! You didn't screw with residents!!
