Credit account no longer exists???

    Credit account no longer exists???

    I may be ignorant here, but I have noticed that a couple of my accounts that I owed big money on, have been either deleted or marked as a balance of $0.00. My discharge hopefully comes on about 2/11/06. Does this mean that the creditors most likely won't object? I have been a mess the past month and a half, and I just have a bad feeling about my case not getting discharged...I feel like I am soon to be doomed. Any replies will be greatly appreciated.

    The accounts deleted or updated to a zero balance, have already given up any chances of collecting money from you, before your discharge has even arrived. That is a good thing.

        im not sure i understand what you mean here? just the fact that they reported that you owed $0 balance to the credit agency doesnt mean you no longer owe them.

        as for the orginal poster, if you listed them on your bk form then thats a start. creditors usually object during the last 3 weeks of your period if they are going to object at all really. most dont. thank god! lol anyways you wont know until the days after your objections are due and you get your discharge.

            My understanding of the original post was that some of the accounts were already reporting a zer0 balance because he filed, without even waiting for the discharge. Am I wrong?

              That is correct. The credit union balance is now $0...it was about $7000 when I filed, the CC account no longer exists and that was about $10000 when I filed...discharge date is coming up.

                I checked my CR after filing December 28 and some of mine also show a balance of 0 and one even shows discharged under Chapter 7. My 341 was only Tuesday January 24th 06. It is wishful thinking to hope they wont pursue any further but I'm not counting on it. Keep us posted on what happens over the next few weeks. Good luck and I know how you feel, I have 7 weeks left.
