    Discharge of Debtor

Perhaps I am getting close......I filed CH7 back in Aug 2005. I checked Pacer today and it finally shows "Discharge of Debtor", but still shows "Awaiting Closing". On the explanation page, it states: "This court order grants a discharge to the person named as the debtor. It is not a dismissal of the case...."

So, what does all that mean? If I am discharged, what are we waiting on, or what has to happen, to close the case? I do not owe any back taxes and won't be getting a refund on taxes this year; I will actaully have to pay in a few hundred dollars to Federal.

    Thanks for your input!

The case will be closed when the court feels like it. Which actually has less to do with your case itself and more to do with the alignment of the stars and what the judge had for lunch. The important thing is, you're discharged, so congrats.
