I just realized once I looked at my paper work that a creditor was not included eventhough I put them on my original paper work. I know I included them because I had a hard time getting the address but it was not placed in my paper work. I would certainly hate to bring any attention to my case since I should be discharged in approximately 15 days, can anyone tell me what to do, the debt is $510 and it's that damn pay day loan I was so proud of including!!!!!!!! Looks like they will get the last laugh on that. I have already contacted my attorney waiting on a call back.

Its ok, I'm an idiot too...
Oh yeah, about your case. I would just print out and mail them a copy of your bankruptcy case filing notice. They will have the same opportunity to object just like all the other creditors. I had to do that with a creditor as well. I sent it registered or certified mail don't remember the difference, just in case they try saying that 'Oh but we didn't get it' garbage.

You can add a creditor, would be best to do so. Less grief in the end. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

That happened to us too. We had 2 medical bills we forgot to list. One simply accepted our BK discharge; the other one gave us a hard time and in fact sent our account to a collection agency. I called them; asked for the supervisor and explained what had happened. Surprisingly, she apologized and said case closed and we havent heard from them since. I wouldnt panic...

Large purchases, or cash advances/transfers too close to your file date would be the only issues to worry about. (Or if the US Trustee sees you as a high income filer.) Adding an overlooked creditor won't cause harm. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. Its a pay day loan place. They really don't do anything but loan shark people. I doubt they even hire attorneys to collect on bad debts. They probably make 510$ on every 4 pay day loans. You can amend your filing if you want but all the creditor matrix is really for is to see that they get a copy of your notice of filing. And you can do that yourself.

adding them to the list by amending them is the better route. like staci said, less grief in the end. amendin git yourself w/o teh attorney costs only around $26
more then likey your state allows for the mistake and if you are getting a chapter 7 as a no asset then it wont matter - depends on your states laws.Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!

Not to mention the anxiety and stress and worry when we are putting our bk's together! I can't believe the mistakes I made on my original filing (of course fixing it all before my first meeting... but it was the stress and shame and horror of it all that made me forget things).Originally posted by bkfilerbtw, you are not an idiot. we all left stuff off our lists mostly. its tooo hard to keep track of all the details during a bk imo.

Finding this website has been great. We've learned things here that attny's don't tell you. Or you forget to ask in a Consult. Or they don't fully explain during the Consult.
One attny sent us a packet. Basically the paperwork that will be filed in slightly different format. Been working on that for a Consult on Monday. That's been a big help as you have the advantage of time. If you forget to write something down and remember later, you can come back and add it.
Another attny gave us a website to go to for free Credit Reports. Can check for any "old" creditors we may have forgotten that could come outa the wood work and bite us in the butt later. Seeing our CR's has been depressing. All paid and current. All up to date. Knowing 25 years of good credit is about to go down the tubes.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

Man, I hear ya. Since I attained adult-hood... 18 y.o....just right at 25 years ago, I have always been the most responsible person. For years.. I would even save utility bills in shoe boxes, noting the date paid (always on time!) and the check number. Just kept all the financial ducks in a row. Lived on peanuts for years.. and had some years where money flowed more freely... but always, always, always being totally responsible credit-wise. Had a really, really, really high credit score...right up until that one twist of fate, when things unravel. Next thing I know.... foreclosed on my home a few years ago.... and now this bk.Originally posted by SinkingFastSeeing our CR's has been depressing. All paid and current. All up to date. At least I have one major asset: and that's my knowledge and confidence that I can live responsibly. No one can take that away from us. If the credit world frowns at us... so what! We are only human.
