As others have mentioned - tell your lawyer the truth sooner rather than later. Your lawyer needs an accurate view of the situation in order to advise you properly. The paperwork will need to be amended. Affirming the accuracy of paperwork completed innacurately, UNDER OATH, is most definitely the way to handle something like this.

From what I've read the OP posted in this thread, I don't want to jump to any kind of conclusion or judgment but I'm suspicious that this is somehow intentionally done by the OP, one way or another, I won't ask. I don't know how to 'help' him/her here as I'm not a lawyer nor am I capable of doing so. The best he/she can do from now on is to be truthful to the trustee, as he/she is probably facing fraud charges here, in addition to being dismissed. He/she should talk to the lawyer ASAP.

I don't know about your state or many other states but here in Minnesota, once one claim that they lost their $$ on gambling and had to file bk. The first thing is they would be checked right away from the casinos whether or not do they have membership (you can only legally gamble here in casinos, as far as I know). If they illegally gamble, they are in another legal hole. Every state is different.

If this post is actually authentic, I would expect that if the poster wasn't honest with his/her attorney initially about any of this and now only tells the truth, expect your attorney will resign from your case as well.

Just as an FYI - my attorney questioned me several times as to whether I was expecting a large gambling settlement and in the information pack he gave me it states in bold letters "DO NOT GAMBLE". I wondered why he was so insistent and now I know, after reading all this. (My "big" gambling was $5 per week for the lottery, which I did stop - and no, I never won).

My feeling is that since I am paying for his advice, it is best to take it.

I'm still trying to figure out how you all knew this person was the same person just by reading 3 posts between 2 user names....when the info wasnt the same and the OP tried to (it seems to me anyway) deliberately hid that fact by changing scenarios around.

            Smarties you all are

The date was the same and the story similar. Where I work, the details are very important. So I tend to notice things like this.
