    child tax credit and bankruptcy in ohio

    i filed in september 2005, they also asked for my income tax returns, i have been reading the threads and was wondering can the trustee touch the child tax cerdit portion of my refund? just curios of what they will be taking.

    I've heard that in most states they don't, but I've also heard that in OH they look at the entire thing.
    Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's.       Someone else in Kansas posted on the Forum that their Trustee took the whole thing, which included $2000 in child tax credits.

      Some Trustees are, some Trustees aren't.
      Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
      Discharged - 12/2006
      Officially Declared No Asset - 03/2007
      Closed - 04/2007

        I think it depends on the state/district. Some rule it is NOT part of the BK estate, and some rule that it is...

            i believe it is only discharged but not closed yet.
