Dividing Property - furnishing, car, etc. on Schedules

Hi all, thanks in advance for the help.

I'm filing Chapter 7 next week. I'm married, but filing individually (wife went thru bankruptcy 2 years ago).

My question is... how do I handle Schedule B (personal property) for furniture, etc. that we have in the house. I know somewhere I divide the amount in half because I'm the only one filing, but I don't know where.

And how can I seperate them for the exemptions (Schedule C)?

Also, how should I handle a car she owns (no lien) that's titled in her name?

    Thanks!

Big question...do you have any joint unsecured credit?

According to my attorney, property she owned before marriage would be hers, as would the car since it's only in her name.

      Hi MikeB,

This gets to be a real issue w/ Floridas wimpy personal property exemption....

The way I read it you fill in Sch B with everything not in your wife's name only marked "J" for joint, but in the last column the 'debtors interest' in your case would be 1/2 the value.

Need one of the lawyers around here to chime in....
