Hi
This question is mainly for people who've already filed. When you are listing your debts do you list both the original creditor AND the collection agencies who took over to recover the debt. If so do you list the same debt amount twice or just once and make a notation somewhere that the amount is from the original creditor. For example I owed Best Buy $822 but since then, 2 collection agencies have taken over this acct and the amount now is over $1,000. Would it be safe to list everyone - CC's Original, Collection Agencies and Law Firms trying to collect debts? Someone told me to list everything, but how do you list the amounts? If you do so 2x then it inflates what you actually owe.
Last, if a Law Office has taken over your debts does that mean that they are getting ready to sue or they are just trying to collect a debt like everyone else. Over the last few months I had been receiving letters from Law Offices outside of NY where I live trying to collect a debt from the original creditors.
Thanks
