I dont know for sure but I would think because efile gets you a quicker refund - if you are entitled to one, and mailing it, especially now, may take 8 weeks or longer. Are you required to turn over your refund to the trustee? Ask your lawyer to be sure.

Edward thanks for replying...We had our 341 in August, the trustee said he may want to look at our refunds that was it, in Feb we got a letter saying our case was discharged and closed. I checked on pacer just to be sure and sure thing our case is closed. I'm thinking we can keep our refund. What do you think?
In our case, we were told not to e-file because of the cost for doing so (I think it's about $20). I'm guessing trustee wants every penny he/she can get out of your refund.

Hi just wanted to chime in here-
Our trustee said no to a rapid refund or having the check directly deposited into our checking account. He had no problems with us e-filing our returns, we just made sure that we requested a paper check to be sent. By efiling, our return check will get to us much sooner...thus hopefully, ending this long stressful process
I just want to give the man his money and move on with my life LOL
Of course, you will most definately want to speak with your attorney before taking any kind of action. Best to play it safe!!!
Our trustee simply said to send him copies of our tax return and our W-2's. We e-filed yesterday. I'm sure we'll get a letter asking for his GIANT bite of the pie!! (he gets most of our refund because of when we filed.)
