    Post-filing payments on non-dischargeable debt

Hello - I have a question. Can I make payments on non-dischargeable debts after I file my petition? I have a parking ticket I want to pay, maybe even pay the IRS some monies voluntarily towards past due taxes, etc. Does anyone have any insight as to why I wouldn't be able to make these payments?

    Thanks

    Hi debrouillant,

My first thought was "where is the $$ coming from?"

If it was prepetition cash that was exempted, can't see why not spend it on taxes and parking tickets
If it was prepetition cash that was not-exempted, I would worry about the trustee making noise about preferential payments. (even though it might not make a difference given the priority tax debts have over other debts)

If it was cash made after filing, you should be able to spend it according to your Schedule J plan w/ no complaints.

Kinda just some thoughts floating through...definitely need a second opinion...
