    Delay in Settlement letter?

As related in a previous post, I am facing a potential AP from Chase. They sent a proposed settlement letter, which differed from what their attorney's office told me via phone. Verbal proposal was a lot better. I was supposed to get a written proposed settlement agreement in a day or two but it never showed. I emailed and asked what was going on. First reply said you'll get it by Friday; then a second about 5 minutes later saying Chase said it would be in two weeks. Now 2 weeks is getting very close to 60 days. About 5 days short. Do you think this is a tactic to bring about settlement or just normal corporate bureaucracy? Or could it be that attroney verbally gave wrong info? This is last remaining knot in my stomach and I just want it to be done with. Thoughts?

Was the Chase attorney you spoke with in-house counsel or an attorney from a collection agency?
