Notice of appearance

I received a letter from the court stating a request for appearance from Mazda and a local attorney. My attorney is closed so I don't know of this is something I should be worried about. Any ideas??

Gotcha. It's normal for a car company to want to meet about reaffirming. It shouldn't delay your discharge.

Really? Why would they want to waste money and go to court? I want to reaffirm it. Is it possible they will take the car??

They can reject the reaffirmation if they don't think you have the funds to continue paying for it. Then they'd have to file that motion for relief of stay, then they'll take the car. Ask them if they do ride throughs as well.

Mazda said I would have to reaffirm it to keep it. I only have 2 yrs left. Urgh now I have to worry about this all weekend.

Don't worry... could be nothing more that a standard review.

The car company has little interest in taking back the assest if you have the means to pay for it.

Exactly, Freddy. Don't worry about. As long as you have the means to pay for it, you should be ok.

Thanks! Yes we can pay for it. I'm a little nervous bc we have a neg dmi so what if they think we can't pay for it.
