Thank the good Lord...I have been discharged from my Chapter 7! It has been a long road...I originally filed a Chapter 13 in 2010, and continued to pay through February of 2014, when I lost my job...huge blow to my family as I had a very good paying job. We converted to a Chapter 7, and was discharged last week. Since BKs can stay on your credit for 7 years, will my BK fall off of my credit from the filing date in 2010, or discharge date of 6/2014? Either way, I'm so incredibly happy to be finished with my BK!

I thought that conversions were one strike on your credit report and went to the original filing date of the first case. Now it might be 10 years from the original date if you convert to a 7. As always, check with your attorney.Originally posted by keepmine View PostChapter 7 bk's remain for 10 years from the filing date.~~ Filed Over Median Income Chapter 7: 12/17/2010 ~~ 341 Held: 1/12/2011 ~~ Discharged: 03/16/2011 ~~Not an attorney - just an opinionated woman.
