    Some Questions About Ch.7

I had a few questions regarding Ch. 7, which we are thinking of filing in the not too near future.

My wife has a house with her father. Both their names are on the deed. He recently took out a mortgage on their house. What would happen if she filed bankruptcy? The mortgage is in his name. If she doesn't declare bankruptcy, but I do, how does this affect her and her house?

If we somehow bought property to live on after our bankruptcy, can it be taken away?

I know you can't declare bankruptcy on student loans, except in the case of economic harship, which I think we may have when/if we declare bankruptcy.
We may be living on someone else's land, doing work-trade. Basically we help them out in return for food and housing, and the land as well, which is perfectly fine with us, as we've done this in the past, but it also brings in a small to zero income. Would this be considered an economic hardship? Not having any income to pay back our student loans BUT having a "job"?

Do they take away personal property like wedding rings, books, or our computers?

    Thanks!
    Anthony
