    My head hurts.

These collection calls are driving me nuts. And, this is more of me venting.

I keep getting calls for an auto loan I co-signed on with my now ex-wife. I answered it last night by mistake. They called at 8:54pm. Why oh why do they insist on the lecture crap? Like I don't realize I co-signed for it? She filed bankruptcy already, surrendered the car, and I was left with a huge deficiency balance.

Its not just that I refuse to pay it, but I can't pay it. I have no extra income.

I think I'm just going to get rid of every phone I have. If anyone wants to talk to me, they can use e-mail. One just called as I was writing this..oy.

The phone calls are definitely one of the most unpleasant parts of this experience. But honestly, it's something you're gonna have to find a way to deal with until you file.

Different things work for different people.

Try caller ID. Get an answering machine and only pick up when it's someone you want to talk to. Turn off the ringers on your home phone and tell anyone you want to only call you on your cell.

I used to think how frustrating it was for the Collectors. They go to the trouble of calling and I don't answer for them to torture me. What fun was that for them??!!

Well you hit the nail on the head right there with what it is that creditors do NOT understand! I've had them tell me to go BORROW money to pay their debt! Sheesh!

They will drive you crazy, no doubt. Virtually ALL my accounts were in collection by the time I filed BK. I often marvel at the fact I didn't become literally physically sick over it. I had a few of them even calling me at work, despite me telling them I could not accept their calls at work. I was a wreck.

Bottom line is "this too shall pass." It does get better. I LOVE it now.......don't get ONE phone call, don't get ONE bill in the mail. Just wish I had done it sooner!
