Paralegals do 90% of the leg work for attorneys......... they prepare documents based on given information and then the attorney "looks over everything" and "signs off on it".........

Paralegals are basically almost as knowledge as attorney's - they just don't have the liscense to practice law...............

Some attorneys use paralegals all the time...... often you will talk to a paralegal, she/he will prepare your documents, etc - THEN you will be introduced to your attorney......

Paralegals will answer any questions you have, and if uncertain will run it by her attorney to get an answer for you......

Paralegas can prepare all your documents - they just can't represent you in court - like an attorney can.....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

I felt really good after I filed my answer.... I felt some power and do not feel Chase expected an answer. I will fight them all I can for what I believe in. They have been horrible. I do owe them, but not what they say I do. THIS IS WRONG. I am filing a BK in the meantime so hopefully the lawsuit will get dropped.... But even if I did not file the BK - I would fight them tooth and nail.

I really do believe they are hoping you DO NOT file an answer. AND If you don't have the $180 ask the clerk at the courthouse for a fee waiver form. I have been told by an attorney - (not sure if I believe him 100%) -He said you just CANNOT LIE ABOUT INCOME on the fee waiver form....your expenses are another story. but I think if your expenses are high enough (this is where people lie) to where you could not afford the $180 you would get it waived.... so it seems you could be rich and still get it waived.

Another words you could have an income of 150,000 per year, pull up in a Ferrari - but claim to have expenses that are 180,000 per year and still qualify for the fee waiver.... because your expenses outweigh your income....(I think expenses would be very hard to verify by the court and can get very complicated)

This is what I have been told - but not sure if it's really true...
Sounds a little unfair to me. Luckily I could come up with the $180..... I personally I feel that if you have the court filing cost you should pay it. I think a lot of people lie on the fee waiver and get away with it. I feel the waiver is strictly for those that do not have much at all... (i.e, no ferrari, no mansion) I feel it's for those who truly cant come up with $180.

But even though I filed an answer I think the lawsuit still continues....?? Not sure if Chase would get my answer and say to themselves "this is not worth it, they are fighting back let's drop the lawsuit"
