Hi, I've got a question as to what harassment is construed as, and what my options are...
My wife and I filed ch 7 about a month ago. Actually, 6 weeks is more accurate. Since then, we have stopped receiving phone calls from any creditors, nor have we received any mail from them. (Now, we just get letters trying to get us to sign up for predischarge counseling, and from every car dealership in the tri state area assuring us that we can be approved pre-discharge...
Anyway, and this is too coincidental. Since about a week after filing, I have received every day, no less than 14 phone calls from an unavailable number on my cell phone. Sometimes I answer it, sometimes I don't. When I don't, they never leave a voice mail, and when I do, they immediately hang up. It's become my daily wakeup call at 8:14am. Not fun for me since I typically like to sleep until 9am. I don't have a scorned lover, and I also don't have a woman on the side, and I'm also about 99.999% positive my wife isn't doing anything either, so that leaves creditors. I've called Verizon wireless, and all they can do is offer to change my phone number at no charge, but they cannot give me the number that is calling.
Anynoe else ever have this happen?
