Just received Summons and will be starting a new job soon - questions! Help!

I received my first summons yesterday. I have been out of work due to serious health issues and have finally been cleared to work. I will be starting a new job in a few weeks. I am guessing this creditor will have a judgement against me by the end of this month. How easy and soon will they be able to find out where I am working? I know it is not going to look good to start a new job with this going on. (We are not sure how soon we will be able to file - hopefully by the end of June.)

Don't call work from you home landline phone in case they get your phone records. Get a prepaid cell phone.

If you just received your summons and will be filing the end of June then there are a few legal ways you can stall the judgment. Generally though unless you are seriously going to file the end of June...I wouldn't bother.

Speak with a few attorneys in the area for free consults and let them know you just received a summons. For a small amount of money you may get a letter from an attorney which may slow down the process and by you a little more time.
