    large check to deposit

I live in FL and will be depositing a large check into a joint bank account until it clears and we can access those funds. My husband has a judgment against him. Can that joint account be frozen? Would it be safet to open a joint account until that check clears, We cant afford to lose that money as it is for us to move into a new apartment.

Open your own account and deposit it into that account. If you place it into an account with his name on it then it is available for the taking.

Is that large check made payable to you only, or both of your names? If it is in your name only don't deposit it into the joint account, but open another account at a completely different bank.

I'd open an account in your name only. My husband and I each have our own accounts and I deposit his paychecks and my kids paychecks in the account in my name only. They just sign them and I sign below theirs.
