    Sister-State Judgements?

    Hey everyone,

If a judgement is obtained in MI (but I now live in TX) and a sister state judgement is granted (validating the judgement in TX) my assets are protected under the TX exemptions, right?

Is their a residency age requirement to be protected under the TX laws? I know the 100% homestead exemption requires 4 years...but I dont have a house, just a car and some posessions.

I would guess that while the judgment can be domesticated in Texas, enforcement of the judgment through wage garnishment is probbaly not allowed. You would need to study the Texas statutes and determine this. I'm not familiar with these.
