Help please RE: Valentine & Kebartas, Inc.

Hi guys. I'm so pi$$ed and frustrated right now! I had a Dell acct that I included in my NOW DISCHARGED bk. Throughout the process, the ONLY creditor that continued to call was V & K, Inc. I provided them on at least 3 occasions with my bk info as did my attorney on at least one occasion. I didn't hear from them again for a week or so. In the meantime, I am signed up with TruCredit's alert service. I got an alert this morning that stated that a new 'major derogatory' had been entered on my CR. I click on it and low and behold V & K have entered a major derogatory-charge off on my CR on JULY 3!! WTF??? Really. Can they do this or is this a violation of the FCRA?? I have typed a letter to Experion using the example letters listed on the forum and am in the process of doing the same for V & K.

Any advice as to how to proceed other than what I'm doing?

    Thanks in advance........

    doh

These guys are real winners. They call me on a dell account as well. It was a company account and the company closed. I was not a guarantor yet they still call and harrass. I am getting ready to send them an ITS letter.

20 years ago, I had a bk. After the discharge, I had American General Finance continue to call and collect. My attorney was able to settle with them without a suit for $1000 each...1k for me, 1k for him. They went away and removed the derogatories from my credit report.

Dang. I'm lovin your story. Hopefully I won't get to that point with them, but I will if I have to. I hope they get off your back too. I've typed up what I feel are brilliant letters. I tried to call them but apparently they are closed for the holiday weekend. I'm on my way to mail off the letters (registered- return receipt requested) and we'll see what happens from there.

Good luck on your battles as well!! ;)

Calling probably will not do any good. What you need is a good paper trail and a voice trail might complicate matters. You already have enough ammo so go after them.
