Yipee! Today is the 16th! I'm good for another 45 - 60 days of no wage garnishment!
I get paid once per month. Every month I get to the 16th without being served, I have 14 days if a small claims comes my way. This gets me to the 30th at which time I could file a small claims answer and get a hearing date 30-50 days out.
For non-small claims, I would get 30 days to answer if I chose. Who knows how long I could actually hold off a trial date in a circuit or federal court.
No suits filed anywhere that I know of. Knock on wood.
Just a little self-celebration.
