    collections question

My sister has a title loan on her car. at one of these stupid little rinky dink places .

they called today and told her son that she was delinquent and she need to come in and pay it.

ok, my husband has a signature loan there and he is going to pay his when its due next week.
They know she is my sister. I know there going to jump us when we walk in there about my sister

    My question
wasn't it illegal to tell her son that she was delinquent
and if they say a word to me about it wont that be illegal

I would love to have a letter to hand to her, when she starts telling my sister is late,
I would love to say to her just to send her 1000.00 check and then she can come and pay her dang loan
what is that federal law they can not discuss bills with somebody else

Better yet, walk in with a tape recorder in your pocket. Get them to say as much identifying info as possible, like the name of their business and the name of the person you are talking to.

As far as I know, it is illegal for them to discuss the debt with anyone besides the debtor or the debtor's spouse.
