Receiving calls from multiple CA on same account

So here is something odd. I received a call last week from "The Law Offices of Tom Landis" regarding a BofA account. I am getting ready to send DV and CD when I get a call today from Credit Control on the same account. Though the conversation, they explain that it is the same BofA account. Said it was sold to Resurgent Capital on January 30, 2009. Gave me an offer to settle for 1/2. Ya right. 18K for 9K when they paid pennies on the dollar? Not going to happen. Anyone have this happen to them? I am going to DV and CD all parties now.....
