    ssd

ok heres the deal wife won ssd we were notified there will be significant amount deposited into checking acct.switched banks several months back no probs yet both are named on acct.opened a new acct same bank just for her and only ssd is gona be used for it.Is it safe is my question or would be better off to pull it out once it hits and sit on it?also we both are in collections seperate cards.I know bout the monthly amount can be put to a card but I dont think so with the backpay.
I do know it cant be touched but it does happen I have read and its a hassle to get it back.I am looking just what would be best option

Have you called the Social Security Administration and asked if they can issue a pay card for it?

Otherwise, I guess you could pull it out and put it in something like a Wal Mart debit card, or do like BKDefender always suggests and put it in a Roth IRA.
