Have a large account with BOA that went to Northstar Services
at the beginning of July---and I got two calls this week from someone
who said she was in pre-legal---and urgent to call her---which I didn't.

The second message that she left today says that she has to give her
decision tomorrow.Now---does this mean further collection---since this
outfit has never contacted me before phone about this---just got a letter
indicating that the BOA account was with them---or does this say lawsuit?

If so---how long for this place to file a lawsuit and have me served?

collection agency... very unlikely they'll sue, but stranger things have happened I suppose. It sounds more like a scare tactic "if you dont call, we're already in pre-legal and blah blah blahhhhhh"

If you still have the number, you can do a reverse look up and make sure its a junk debt buyer - and go from there.

The letter probably says that you have 30 days to respond, blah blah blah.

Send a Validation Letter back to them within this 30 days period. This will drag things out even further (or could even stop them).
