That's exactly what I mean Butterfly57. What you see on your report is the information from the public record - just as your report states. The IRS did not report anything to the credit bureau. The credit bureaus pick up info from the public records w/o any assistance from the creditors.
It's the same thing for judgments. When you see judgments on your credit report, they are not reported by the creditor. Judgments are pulled from the public record. The last entry from the creditor might be sold, charged off, settled, etc. But the creditor will not report as "judgment."
I know nothing about whether the state of NC reports to the bureaus. I was only referring to the IRS.
Either way it seems to have affected my credit scores with all 3 agencies. And the amount of tax I owe now with penalties and interest being piled on for the past 3years has hit the $100,000 mark.
