I'm new here, and we are just getting our papers filed for Chapter 7. We have a question about IRA's if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it! Is a Roth IRA an exempt asett?
TIA!
Yes, retirement accounts are exempt from trustees'/creditors' theft, but the trustee might look into the dates of your last deposits into that IRA account If, for example you deposited funds into the IRA but did not make any payments to your creditors, it could be considered a fraudulent assett buildup.
