    Need Pro help.

    Hello.
A little background. Seperated in Nov 1999, Husband paid no bills. No child support; nothing. I was enrolled in school, stay home mom of 4 and babysitting 4. I used tax return to catch mortg and 2nd mortg up to May 2000. House was for sale for 8 months went to foreclosure in fall 2000. 2nd mortg $47,000 not paid in sale. At the point I seperated we Had excellent credit. My ex stupidly let what could have been a clean seperation run amuck by refusing to pay support or help with food or clothing or any household bills.

I was working with a man from First Horizon, who has just quit his job. He suggested without actually suggesting it (I had to bring it up) that Bankruptcy would be my best solution. I am current on my current bills but had the 2nd mortg. some hospital bills. No credit card debt except for JCPenney bill which I had intended to keep but they do not have an affirmation policy in affect and they closed the account. My new husband went through divorce and he had a mess from his ex wife (his was credit cards) and a vehicle she kept without paying for years unknown to him.

All said and done this is where we are now. Creditors hearing March 8th. And discharge 3 months later. I called First Horizon and they have no plans that will help me. My guy had already talked with a bank that was willing to take us 1 day out of bankruptcy.
We are paying $1300 in rent. We have been renting for 5 years. We have been renting the same house from the same man...no moving around. My husbands job is 12 years, my current job is 3 and before that 2 years. Our rent is going to $1500 this year and we will NEVER save money at that rate.

PLEASE PLEASE someone--it is crazy to pay this rent when a mortg would be the same amount of money. We would also qualify as first time home buyers. He has never owned. I have not owned for 5 years.

Sherryz, you should def be able to qualify for a home. What are the credit scores and do you have any money to put down? 12 months cancelled rent checks are going to be a big help in your situation, as well as the time in the house. All that is good because it shows stability. What happened with first horizon that you couldnt go with them?or did you. There are allot of subprime banks that are willing to do these loans and very eager to close them. If you need further detail seeing as how i am not really sure of your question contact me and i will gladley see what can be done and what will work out best for you. Hope this helps.
