    Inaccurate Foreclosure Dates on CR

    Hi to all,

I have a question about my credit report and foreclosures.

Back in 2002 I was laid off from my job. I moved out of my home in Jan. 2003, because my wife and I panicked after seeing other people's belongings piled out in front of their homes, because in Georgia the Sheriff can come and kicked you out.
I tried to negociate with the lender and sell the home to an investor, but the mortgage company would not do anything to help me.
Now it is 4 plus years later and my Ch. 13 (converted from a 7) was finally confirmed (two year process).
My question is my credit report is showing two mortgage companies foreclosing on the same home.
#1) Showing a verified date of 02/2004. Foreclosure Started
#2) Showing an updated date of 9/2006. Forclosure Initiated

How do I dispute the inaccuracy of the dates.

Keep in mind I moved out of the house in 2003.
I need to correct the dates to reflect the earlier account, which would be more accurate.
I have been killed by this whole thing and just want to get my credit back in order, but now I have this new stumbling block of being less than 1 year in foreclosure causing me to have issues getting a loan.
My credit is getting better and I know it is a time matter, but the 9/2006 is incorrect and I need to rectify it.
    Thanks for any feedback.

Property transfers are generally a matter of public record.

Try calling the Court House and ask a Clerk how you'd go about getting the info you're looking for. There should be some record of the Foreclosure Sale. If you can get a copy of that, you could send a Letter of Dispute to the CRA's along with a copy of the Foreclosure Sale.

Just an FYI for you,......... When it comes to Court Records, the CRA's generally wanna see the Court Seal on the record. It may cost you a few bucks to get Court Sealed docs, but it could be well worth it.

That should clear up the date problem for you.
    Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
    Discharged - 12/2006
Officially Declared No Asset - 03/2007
    Closed - 04/2007
