    Interesting GMAC Mortage Tidbit

    In Wisconsin, most court proceeding records are online. As my wife and I are thinking of giving up our home, I went online to try to get a general timeframe for GMAC (our mortgage company) to file for foreclosure.

    When searching for court cases, I found that they (GMAC) have not filed for a foreclosure in our county since 12/2008, yet in adjacent counties they continue to foreclose.

    Has anyone else noticed this with GMAC in the area they live, and why do you think this is?
    Chapter 7 Filed - 11/27/07
    Discharged - 2/29/08
    Unsecured Debt Discharged - $162k +/- (small business, personally guaranteed)
    Finally Closed - 3/1/09

    What county are you in? We are in Ozaukee and our house is now in foreclosure. Our paperwork was just sent to the judge to sign to begin our redemption period. Sigh. Hoping our mod goes through...
