At my wits end!!!

I sent in the paperwork to GMAC for a modification. I did not qualify for the obama plan. This was an internal one. They finally told me yesterday after I kept calling them, that we were not approved that our expenses were too high and that we were underwater every month, my husband is a commissioned sales person, so some months he has a great month and some months nothing, I tried explaining that, they said you can resubmit the paperwork and reduce all your expenses and see if that works???? anyone have experience with this??? or any advice???
