    Your first step is calling the Home Equity Solutions line - that way you don't have to deal with any BS. 866-970-7821, only open regular business hours M-F. And since your 2nd has been BK'd you will only have to fax them a hardship letter - no other documentation. They will eventually assign you a negotiator to deal with directly.

      Thank you so much for the info. I'm back full time teaching, but hubby was just layed off from his salaried position, which he got after the discharge, so hopefully we won't have difficulty proving hardship. Is the letter in our own words, or do they have some sort of form to fill out. Did you have to give income tax returns?

        As long as it's been discharged, NOTHING but a hardshipt letter - it's that easy.
