Hello Friends!
My BK will be discharged on Aug. 17th and my house is going up for auction on the 8th of Aug. I'm not sure when to start putting in applications for an apartment or house to rent. I live in Virginia and I'm not sure how fast this process will take but have heard that it's pretty fast. Should I talk to potential landlords about my situation before going in and filling out an application?
I was told that I must have the discharge before I can apply for a rental property by others. But I want to make sure that I have all my "eggs in a row" before the discharge is complete because of the possible quick notice to leave my current home.
Thanks for any advice!

Be prepared with at least 6 months rent for your deposit. If you can't get into apartments under management companies, try individual homeowners and make sure that they're not foreclosing as well. How ironic, huh? But you want to make sure. Be very upfront and tell them that you really don't want your credit report pulled because that will lower your score even more than it is now with the bankruptcy. Good luck with the hunting.
