I filed CH 7 last year and one of the lucky ones that got selected for audit. Had some income and money transfer questions that I was able to explain and was cleared by audit agency but not a single question about credit card purchases. Granted my 341 was during the government shutdown so no US Trustee to show up. Had over $100,000 in CC debt among BOA, USAA, AMEX, and a small Credit Union. I quit using the cards several months before I had a thought about bankruptcy. In the end, the only thing that will burn you is if you did something fraudulently or shady. Replacing a water heater isn't going to be considered an issue, might just have to provide receipt to prove what you bought.
